Ms. Jackie Ott

I am so excited for the 2022-2023 school year as the 7th & 8th Grade Language Arts teacher and 7th Grade Religion teacher!

As a native of Saint Louis, Missouri, I did not have the pleasure of growing up in Portland, but I have spent the last seven years exploring the hydrangeas and roses of North Portland and beyond while attending the University of Portland.

I graduated in 2017 from UP with a degree in English and returned this past year, after spending some time working at Powell’s Books, to get my Master of Arts in Teaching. I have found that as much as I love novels, poetry, short stories, essays, and everything in between, what I love even more is helping students find their spark for education and grow in their understanding of reading and writing. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading, baking, and sewing.
