Each year, the Holy Cross middle school students have the opportunity to showcase their public speaking skills through a speech competition, with winners selected in both a serious and a humorous category. This year’s talented winners, Maribel (6th grade) and Jude (8th grade), capMaribel, 6th Gradetivated the audience with their exceptional speeches at the Holy Cross Annual Donor Dinner, hosted by the University of Portland.
Maribel’s speech earned her the top spot in the serious speech category, while Jude brought laughter and joy to the room with his winning speech in the humorous category. Their performances reflected the dedication, confidence, and skill that Holy Cross students develop through this annual competition.
In addition to the competition winners, StudentLydia & Arie, 8th Grade Council Presidents Lydia and Arie, both in 8th grade, also took the stage. They shared personal reflections on their time at Holy Cross, highlighting the strong sense of community, academic growth, and values that have shaped their years at the school.
The evening was a wonderful celebration of the generosity of our donors and the impact of a Holy Cross education.
