Students Explore Upcycling and Ethical Consumerism

Last Thursday, middle school students from the Upcycling and Ethical Consumerism elective took a hands-on approach to sustainability with a field trip to William Temple House Thrift Store and SCRAP PDX.

With just $10 to spend, students were challenged to find items they could repurpose, upcycle, or enhance to increase the value or usefulness. This experience encouraged students to think critically about consumer habits, sustainability, and creative problem-solving.
